Advisory groups will begin meeting soon to carry out President Reagan’s promise to consider an accord with Canada on acid rain, presidential spokesman Marlin Fitzwater said. The situation will be reviewed by the Energy, Natural Resources and Environment Working Group, which is an interagency committee coordinated by the White House Domestic Policy Council, and by the Bilateral Consultative Advisory Group in the State Department, Fitzwater said. “This is a first step,” Fitzwater added, but he gave no timetable for the review.
