AIA Chapter Gives Award to CBS Building

The 25-Year Award of the Los Angeles chapter of the American Institute of Architects has been given to the CBS building, Beverly Boulevard at Fairfax Avenue, and to its designers, Charles Luckman and the late William L. Pereira.
Distinguished achievement awards were given to Welton Becket Associates, Carlos Diniz, KCET Channel 28, Fernando Juarez, Toshikazu Terasawa and Thomas R. Vreeland.
The 25-Year Award went to the CBS Building “in recognition of distinguished architectural design after a period of time has elapsed in which the function, aesthetic statement and execution can be reassessed.”
Certificates of commendation were given to John Pastier and Ted Wu. Presidential citations went to Robert J. Anderson, Bouje Bernkopf, Ernest B. Marjoram and Seth Sakamoto.
