Frankie and Annette are back and Paramount Pictures has ‘em. Avalon and Funicello, of “How to Stuff a Wild Bikini” and “Beach Blanket Bingo” fame, just wrapped principal photography in Malibu on “Back to the Beach.” Unlike the 1960s beach movies made with limited budgets over a three-week period, the new one is said to have cost more than $10 million and took more than two months to shoot. It’s scheduled for release in July.
