Actor Warren Beatty donated 20 acres and television mogul Dick Clark provided 54 acres to help the Santa Monica Mountain Conservancy extend a network of hiking trails in Southern California, officials announced Thursday. Property contributed by Beatty is in suburban Sherman Oaks’ Dixie Canyon, about 15 miles northwest of downtown. Clark donated land in Ventura County as part of the Malibu Creek State Park scenic vista area, 38 miles northwest of downtown. No dollar value was placed by Beatty or Clark on the land they donated.
