Local News in Brief : Truck Kills Woman Crossing Sylmar Street

A Sylmar woman was killed Friday when she was struck by a truck as she was crossing the street, police said.
Florencia Ramirez, 22, was in the intersection of Glenoaks Boulevard and Raven Street at 8:25 p.m. when she was hit by a truck driven by Ron Colsson, 25, of Sylmar, Los Angeles Police Sgt. Joe Cross said.
Ramirez was taken to Holy Cross Hospital in Mission Hills, where she was pronounced dead at 9:15 p.m., Cross said.
Colsson was not cited, he said.
