Aid to the Nicaraguan Contras and Covert U.S. Activities

Regardless of one’s stand on the issues, I am incredulous that, in the current hearings, the attorneys for Lt. Col. Oliver North, Rear Adm. John Poindexter, etc., have not mentioned that the United States became a political entity in a great covert action. The writing of the Constitution was accomplished in totally secret sessions with guards at each door, and our founding fathers had not been authorized by anyone to write it, having been called together for quite another purpose.
The covert action is marvelous when it succeeds--”off with their heads” when it fails.
