The Nation : Funds Ordered Released

U.S. District Judge June Green ruled the Reagan Administration wrongly withheld $180 million in revenue sharing and ordered that the money, including $3 million for Los Angeles County, be paid to more than 150 cities and counties by Aug. 18. The Administration, invoking the Gramm-Rudman deficit reduction law, withheld the money after Congress ended the revenue-sharing program. A spokesman said the Treasury has not decided how to respond.
