Beverly Hills : Judge George Appointed
Gov. George Deukmejian has appointed Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Ronald M. George of Beverly Hills to the 2nd District Court of Appeal.
George, 47, replaces John A. Arguelles, who was appointed to the California Supreme Court after voters defeated former Chief Justice Rose Elizabeth Bird and two associate justices.
George was appointed to sit on the Los Angeles Municipal Court in 1972 by then-Gov. Ronald Reagan and was elevated to the Superior Court in 1977.
The appointment must be confirmed by the state Commission on Judicial Appointments.
