“Family Ties” co-star Justine Bateman, who portrays Mallory Keaton on the popular NBC-TV series, is in good condition following an emergency appendectomy late Thursday. Bateman, 21, was taken to the hospital after complaining of abdominal pain, said spokeswoman Nanci Ryder, who declined to name the hospital. The actress was “doing fine and will remain in the hospital one week,” Ryder said.
