I was very distressed to note that Jessica Fletcher (Angela Lansbury) and another character on a recent episode of “Murder, She Wrote” were not wearing their seat belts in the station wagon on the show. When the car was hit, they weren’t badly hurt even though they were hit by a truck. I think it shows a great lack of concern and respect for the protection of the viewing public and the recently passed seat belt law. Many people consider TV to be a guide for behavior. Therefore, it is the responsibility of television to set a good example by following the laws for safety and encouraging the viewers to also do so.
