Japan is investigating “several cases” of the alleged sale of sensitive technology to the Soviet Union, an official said. Hajime Tamura, minister of international trade and industry, in responding to questions from opposition members in Parliament, partially confirmed a report in the New York-based Journal of Commerce that Japan is investigating between five and 10 companies for possible violations of rules set down by the Paris-based Coordinating Committee for Export Control.
