Senate Judiciary Committee Votes No on Judge Bork

I recently returned from a trip back east during which time I visited Washington, D.C. While there I spent some time being a tourist and one of the places I visited was the Jefferson Memorial. Not only was I awed by its beauty, but I was particularly impressed by the inscriptions on the walls. These writings convinced me that Bork should not be confirmed to sit on the Supreme Court of the United States.
I cannot quote chapter and verse, but the essence of his statements are that the Constitution is a living and breathing document, subject to the changes and social needs of the times. It is certainly not a rigid document with its feet in concrete. Let’s stop arguing what the framers meant: Thomas Jefferson tells us. Judge Bork, won’t you please read it!
