A four-yard touchdown run by Aaron Green with 6:12 left provided the winning margin as Bell-Jeff defeated Pater Noster, 21-14, in a Santa Fe League game at Burroughs High.
Bell-Jeff (5-0-1, 2-0 in league) can credit the victory to a tough defensive line and the running of speedster Phil Reynolds, who rushed for 231 yards on 16 carries, including touchdown runs of 60 and 69 yards. Reynolds, who has rushed for 764 yards this season, also had an 85-yard kickoff return nullified by a clipping call.
Pater Noster dropped to 0-3 in league and 0-6 overall.
