The Los Angeles County coroner’s office has concluded that Dr. Donald Martin Trockman, a psychiatrist who frequently testified as an expert defense witness in drug cases, died after he took an overdose of heroin.
Trockman, 46, was found dead in his Hollywood Hills home on Oct. 25 with an empty hypodermic syringe clutched in one hand. “The cause of death was established as acute heroin-morphine intoxication due to administration of an overdose by injection,” coroner’s spokesman Bob Dambacher said Monday. The death was ruled an accident.
Trockman owned Trockman Medical Corp. of Los Angeles and was an expert on the effects of heroin and other drugs.
