San Pedro residents who want to share their ideas for the future of the Cabrillo Beach Bathhouse may do so at a community meeting tonight at 7:30 p.m. in the auditorium of the Cabrillo Marine Museum.
The meeting was scheduled by Los Angeles Councilwoman Joan Milke Flores and the city Department of Recreation and Parks. Recreation officials later will issue a formal request for proposals from private developers interested in refurbishing and maintaining the building, which the city intends to lease.
City officials estimate that restoration of the 58-year-old building, which has been vacant since the marine museum moved out in 1981, will cost $2 million.
