First Nationwide Bank, the nation’s sixth-largest savings and loan, has completed its previously announced acquisition of ICA Mortgage Corp. from San Diego-based Imperial Corp. of America. The sales price was not disclosed.
ICA Mortgage will operate as a First Nationwide Bank subsidiary, according to a First Nationwide spokesman.
The mortgage company has 46 offices in 14 states and nearly 1,000 employees. About 200 of those employees will remain with ICA. The remainder will be hired by First Nationwide.
First Nationwide is a wholly owned subsidiary of Ford Motor Co.
