Prep Soccer : Hudson’s Goals Are All Valencia Needs

Senior Jeff Hudson scored three goals to lead Valencia High School to a 3-0 victory over Anaheim in an Orange League boys’ soccer game Thursday at Anaheim.
Hudson leads first-place Valencia (8-6-1, 2-0-1) with 15 goals this season. Yahya Jahadi had five saves for Valencia.
In the Angelus League:
Mater Dei 3, Bishop Mont 1--Mater Dei’s Paul Oldham scored two goals to raise his season total to 30. John Coggins also scored for Mater Dei (18-1-1, 4-0).
In the Freeway League:
La Habra 5, Buena Park 3--Joe Meda and Dave Karaba each scored twice to lead La Habra at home. Greg Diamond scored the other goal for La Habra (8-4-3, 3-1).
In Empire League girls’ play:
Los Alamitos 1, El Dorado 0--Megan Fife scored with two minutes left for Los Alamitos (4-0-1, 17-2-2) at El Dorado.
Esperanza 8, Loara 0--Linda Lunceford scored four goals for Esperanza at Loara. The shutout was the 14th for Esperanza (14-1-2, 4-0-1).
In the Garden Grove League:
La Quinta 8, Garden Grove 0--Stefanie Stucker and Lara Crowley scored two goals each for La Quinta (11-3-1, 4-0) at Garden Grove.
In the Pacific Coast League:
Woodbridge 1, Orange 1--Shawn Coleman scored in the first half for Woodbridge and Jenny Vosburg scored in the second half for Orange. Orange is 8-2-2, 2-1-1 and Woodbridge is 5-7-1, 1-1-1.
In the Sunset League:
Marina 2, Fountain Valley 1--Jennifer Weber and Julie Muche scored in the first half for Marina (4-5-5, 1-0-4) at home. Leslie Snyder scored for Fountain Valley.
Edison 2, Huntington Beach 1--Amy Lund scored late in the first half to break a 1-1 tie for host Edison. Kelly Turner scored earlier for Edison (10-4-4, 3-1-1).
Dana Hills 1, San Clemente 0--Megan Fosberg scored in the second half off an assist from Ann Viceroy for Dana Hills (10-4-3, 2-2). San Clemente is 5-4-4, 0-2-2.
In the Sea View League:
Corona del Mar 1, Tustin 1--The Sea Kings (9-5-2, 3-0-1) missed a penalty kick with two minutes remaining at home. Stacy Kargess scored on an indirect free kick from 30 yards out for Corona del Mar. Melanie Cary scored for the Tillers.
