Worthy, Kareem to Be Reserves

NEW YORK — Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and James Worthy of the Los Angeles Lakers and five other players were named to the Western Conference team as reserves for next month’s NBA All-Star Game, the league announced today.
Other reserves, selected by Western Conference coaches for the Feb. 7 game in Chicago, will be center Steve Johnson of Portland, guards Clyde Drexler of Portland and Alvin Robertson of San Antonio, and forwards Mark Aguirre of Dallas and Xavier McDaniel of Seattle. Magic Johnson of the Lakers will start at guard in the all-star game.
