There are still modern-day martyrs. Papadakis who for five years fought the good fight against bureaucrats and politicians, lobbyists and coalitions and won, what for herself? Not a pat on the back. A kick in the pants.
But for the 4 million children in California she won a great victory: the right to be instructed in English--not just in private schools--but in public schools.
