Joseph C. Mendel has joined American Toxxic Control of Newport Beach in the new position of president and chief operating officer. Mendel was formerly senior vice president of risk control services and chief financial officer of International Technology in Torrance. Before that, he was a managing director in the capital market group of Merrill Lynch, the director of corporate development for International Paper Co. and a partner of Booz Allen & Hamilton. American Toxxic is involved in on-site treatment of toxic and hazardous materials.
