Nureyev in ABT ‘Giselle’

The world premiere of Agnes de Mille’s “The Informer” and three guest performances by Rudolf Nureyev in “Giselle” will highlight the final week of the current American Ballet Theatre season in Shrine Auditorium.
De Mille’s first work for Ballet Theatre in 13 years, “The Informer” will be danced on March 15 and repeated the following night. Nureyev is scheduled to dance Albrecht in “Giselle” opposite Marianna Tcherkassky on March 17 (his 50th birthday) and March 18, and opposite Alessandra Ferri at the evening performance of March 19.
Announced casting for the week is as follows:
March 15, 8 p.m. “Symphonie Concertante” (Balanchine): Susan Jaffe, Cheryl Yeager, Wes Chapman. “The Informer” (De Mille): Kathleen Moore, Victor Barbee, Johan Renvall. “Etudes” (Lander): Martine van Hamel, Ross Stretton, Chapman.
March 16, 8 p.m. “Symphonie Concertante”: Christine Dunham, Van Hamel, Stretton. “The Informer”: K. Moore, Barbee, Renvall. “Etudes”: Yeager, Renvall, Chapman.
March 17, 8 p.m. “Giselle” (Baryshnikov/Perrot/Coralli): Tcherkassky, Nureyev, Leslie Browne.
March 18, 8 p.m. “Giselle”: Tcherkassky, Nureyev, Jaffe.
March 19, 2 p.m. “Giselle”: Browne, Stretton, Cynthia Anderson.
March 19, 8 p.m. “Giselle”: Ferri, Nureyev, Jaffe.
March 20, 2 p.m. “Giselle”: Amanda McKerrow, Kevin McKenzie, Christina Fagundes.
March 20, 7:15 p.m. “Giselle”: Browne, Stretton, Anderson.
