Local News in Brief : Two Injured on Freeway

Two women were critically injured when a big-rig truck slammed into their car on the Hollywood Freeway in the Cahuenga Pass early Monday, authorities said.
Firefighters had to pry the women from the wreckage of their car on the freeway at Mulholland Drive after the 2:15 a.m. accident, city Fire Department spokesman Jim Wells said.
The women, who were not identified, were taken by helicopter to Northridge Hospital Medical Center.
