Socialist Workers Name Slate

NEW YORK — The Socialist Workers Party announced today that its candidate for President will be James MacWarren, 36, a black rights activist from Jersey City, N.J. The party’s vice presidential candidate will be Kathy Mickells, 37, a coal miner from Westover, W.Va. The party has fielded a presidential ticket for 40 years and in recent elections has been on the ballot in about 20 states. It pulled about 25,000 votes nationally in 1984.
