College Roundup : Pepperdine Ends Irvine Win Streak

Pepperdine beat UC Irvine, 11-5, in a nonconference baseball game Monday at Irvine, snapping the Anteaters’ five-game win streak.
Irvine trailed, 7-0, as Scott Shockey doubled, tripled and homered for Pepperdine (11-12). Irvine (17-12-1) scored all of its runs in the fourth inning.
Marcus Robinson went 3 for 5 with a double and an RBI for the Anteaters. John Seeburger singled in the fourth inning to run his career-high hitting streak to 14 straight games.
In women’s tennis:
UC Irvine 6, Princeton 3--Irvine (13-4) won all of the singles competition in the nonconference match at Irvine. Irvine’s No. 1 singles player, Courtney Weichsel (15-7 in singles play this season) defeated Lauren Fortgang of Princeton, 6-4, 6-2. Haruko Shigekawa, the Anteaters’ No. 2 player, defeated Hilary Shane of Princeton, 6-4, 6-2.
