Gore Vidal’s historical novel “Lincoln” is the basis for a two-part, four-hour drama that NBC will air Sunday and Monday from 9-11 p.m. on Channels 4, 36 and 39. Sam Waterston dons a beard to portray the 16th President, and Mary Tyler Moore plays his wife, Mary Todd Lincoln.
The two stars have acted together twice before--in the theatrical film “Just Between Friends” and the HBO movie “Finnegan Begin Again.” This drama finds them involved in the personal and political turmoil the Lincolns faced during the Civil War.
The cast also includes Richard Mulligan, John Houseman, John McMartin, Ruby Dee and Cleavon Little.
