Former L.A. Banker President of GNMA

Mark E. Buchman has assumed his duties as the new president of the Government National Mortgage Assn. (GNMA), Department of Housing and Urban Development.
Prior to his appointment, Buchman was executive vice president of Union Bank in Los Angeles, a position he had held since 1982. He was confirmed by the Senate in March following nomination by President Reagan.
