MSI Data Corp., Costa Mesa, reported record net income of $4.9 million for the fiscal year ended March 26, more than three times the $1.3 million posted for the last fiscal year. Revenue increased 28%, to $90.2 million from $70.7 million. Fourth-quarter earnings totaled $1.5 million, up from the $659,000 reported a year earlier. Revenue was $23.8 million, a 13% increase from the $21 million posted for the fourth quarter last year. The company, which sells and services portable data collection devices, attributed its fiscal 1988 results primarily to the success of the new product introductions over the last three years, which constituted almost 90% of total product revenue.
