MESSAGE ON GARCIA

Readers of your April 24 issue of the Book Review were misled with regard to Garcia Lorca’s first book. It was not “Poem of the Deep Song,” published in 1931, but instead “Book of Poems,” which came out in 1921 when indeed the poet was 23 years old. Although Lorca began to write poems in the cante jondo manner in 1921, he did not collect them in book form until 10 years later.
