CELEBRATE! : ORANGE COUNTY’S FIRST 100 YEARS
- Share via
In 1889 a determined group of people won a hard-fought, 20-year battle in Sacramento when the Legislature gave its consent and carved a new county, Orange, out of neighboring Los Angeles County.
In the ensuing years, the residents of the county have created a rich and diverse history, providing it with a personality all its own. It is that history and its participants we recognize with this magazine.
Celebrate! Orange County’s First 100 Years takes a look at the personalities and events that shaped our county’s first century. Please join the 1,170 of us at The Times’ Orange County Edition in saying, “Happy Birthday, Orange County.”
