Knott’s Berry Farm is spreading its wings to team up with Alaska Airlines.
The Buena Park facility has announced that Alaska will sponsor Bigfoot Rapids, the park’s $10-million, river-rafting ride that is scheduled to open Friday.
At the same time, Alaska has also agreed to become the park’s official airline.
Under the agreement, Snoopy and his menagerie will get the spotlight on more than 400,000 Alaska Airlines printed schedules.
“We’ll also get exposure in all 30 cities (served by Alaska),” said Stuart Zanville, Knott’s spokesman. That means that Orange County’s best-known berry farm will be promoted in California, Arizona, Oregon, Nevada, Alaska and Washington.
The park now does very little advertising outside Southern California, Zanville said.
