COLUMBUS, Ohio — Golfer Byron Nelson was in good condition Thursday in a Columbus hospital after he had been admitted for a rhythmic disturbance of his heart. Officials at Ohio State University Hospitals said Nelson, 76, would probably be held until today for observation in the coronary care unit.
Nelson, a Golf Hall of Fame member from Roanoke, Tex., became ill Wednesday while attending a function preceding the Memorial golf tournament in Dublin. Nelson complained of dizziness and fatigue.
“We wanted to stabilize his rhythm,” Dr. Joseph Ryan said. “It was just a precautionary measure.”
