A right-wing South African politician charged Bill Cosby, his ever-popular family sitcom and state-run television with bringing the message of the banned African National Congress into South African homes. Conservative Party member Chris Jacobs lambasted the South African Broadcasting Corp. on Wednesday for continuing to broadcast “The Cosby Show” because its star, he said, is an open advocate of the outlawed black nationalist organization that has been waging a low-level guerrilla war against the white supremacist government. “The Cosby Show” is one of the most popular television shows in South Africa and is widely watched by whites.
