Robert L. Sutton has been named vice president/finance for General Automation, an Anaheim-based computer company. Sutton has been the company’s controller since March and previously was assistant controller. In addition, Richard J. Vogt has been promoted to treasurer from his post as assistant treasurer. Sutton and Vogt assume positions previously held by Donald W. S. Rutherford, who resigned for personal and family reasons, the company said. Sutton joined General Automation in 1982 as manager of corporate reporting. He became assistant corporate controller in 1984. In 1985, he joined National Power Technology, which had been a division of GA, as its vice president, finance. He rejoined General Automation in 1987 as assistant corporate controller. Vogt joined General Automation’s programming staff in 1969 and has since served in various positions in the marketing, customer service and finance departments. He became assistant treasurer of the company in 1978 and an assistant corporate controller in 1983.
