AST Research has combined its previously separate data communications and computer systems product groups into a single unit reporting to Thomas Yuen, an AST co-founder and executive vice president. The new business group will be known as the systems product group.
The Irvine-based computer company said the move was made to streamline its operations and to better reflect the changing nature of AST’s business. Personal computer sales now account for 75% of AST’s revenues, compared to none 18 months ago.
