Concrete Chapter Grants Stipends, Service Awards

Students and professionals have received awards from the Southern California chapter of the American Concrete Institute.
A $1,000 scholarship was awarded to Gordon Kovtun of Cal Poly Pomona. Scholarships of $500 were awarded to Martin Hudson, UCLA; James Twineham, Cal Poly Pomona, and Derek Wieske, UC Irvine.
Jim McDowell, of CalMat Co., Los Angeles, was named winner of the Sam Hobbs award for service to the chapter.
The J.A. Jones Construction Co., Los Angeles, received the Charles J. Pankow award for outstanding construction in concrete.
