Long Beach to Play in Iowa Tournament

IOWA CITY, Iowa — Cal State Long Beach will meet Georgia in the opening game of the seventh annual Amana Hawkeye basketball tournament Dec. 2, the host University of Iowa announced.
Iowa will take on Brown in the second game at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
The opening-round losers will meet in a consolation game Dec. 3, followed by the championship game between the opening-round winners.
Iowa also said it will be joined in the 1989 tournament by Missouri Valley Champion Bradley, UC Santa Barbara and Ohio University. The 1990 tournament will feature Pittsburgh, last year’s Big East champion, and Texas-San Antonio and Colgate.
