Seeking the Gold took command at the quarter pole and held off a late surge by Evening Kris to win the $227,400 Dwyer Stakes for 3-year-olds by 1 3/4 lengths at Belmont Park. Seeking the Gold, ridden by Pat Day, covered the 1 1/8 miles in 1:48 and returned $2.60, $2.40 and $2.10 as the 2-5 favorite of the crowd of 17,453.
