Northwest Airlines wants to know what people think of the beleaguered airline, so it’s hired a consulting firm to survey customers, employees and shareholders, according to a published report in the Detroit News. The newspaper said it had obtained an internal Northwest memo dated July 1 asking employees to share with management their perception of the airline’s identity, including “the red tail, the airline’s name and logo and their reaction to changing these identity elements.” Northwest spokesman Alan Muncaster said such surveys are routine, that the airline is only evaluating its visual image.
