The logo of Ted Turner’s Cable News Network has been getting 24-hour airplay since the Fourth of July weekend, but some of the 197 broadcast stations that air CNN videotape are less than overjoyed about it. According to the Washington Post, CNN brass ordered the use of the yellow logo--appearing in the lower right-hand corner of the screen--as an “experiment” and promised to drop it if “it has a negative effect.” News directors of the seven Fox Broadcasting stations subscribing to the service had lodged a “vigorous protest” with CNN over the presence of the logo.
