Sompinlikaglass Wins at Los Alamitos

Sompinlikaglass, rallying from fourth place at the eighth pole, scored a narrow victory over Blazin Sin in the featured eighth quarter horse race at Los Alamitos Wednesday night.
Third in last year’s All-American Derby, Sompinlikaglass, who carried lifetime earnings of $335,046 into the race, beat eight other allowance mares, covering the 350 yards in 17.72 seconds to win by a nose.
Blazin Sin was second, 3/4-length ahead of Beduinos Miss. Victoryforth was fourth.
Sompinlikaglass picked up her first victory in five 1988 starts. It was the second victory of the night for jockey John Creager.
Sompinlikaglass paid $4, $3.20 and $2.80. Blazin Sin paid $4.60 and $3.60, and Beduinos Miss returned $5.
