UC faculty members will receive a 3% pay raise starting next January under salary hikes approved by the Board of Regents. Management and professional staff of the nine-campus system will receive a 2% pay increase beginning next January plus an additional 6% hike beginning June 1, 1989. Under the new salary plan, based on the salary scales in the Budget Act signed July 8 by Gov. George Deukmejian, assistant professors who work the usual nine months will earn $32,400 to $40,500. Associate professors will be paid from $38,300 to $50,800. Full professors will earn $46,100 to $84,000.
