Town Marshal Slain; Police Seek Stepson

FREMONT, Ind. — A town marshal arrested in February on suspicion of killing his wife was found shot to death, and police Wednesday were seeking his stepson, a former state trooper, in the slaying.
Police were searching for Samuel Sisler, 35, son of Town Marshal Bobby Moore’s slain wife, Barbara, in the shooting Tuesday. Moore had been arrested for shooting his estranged wife but was released for lack of evidence.
As a homicide detective, Moore had investigated the slaying of Sisler’s father, Louis Sisler, in 1974 by a vigilante group looking for a rape suspect.
