Local News in Brief : Plan to Erect Satellite Dishes Turned Down
- Share via
A Los Angeles communications company’s plans to install 15 satellite dishes in the Tujunga Wash have been denied by a city of Los Angeles planning official who said the dishes would obstruct residents’ views.
The television transmission and receiving dishes proposed by Bonneville Communications Co. of Los Angeles would have ranged in height from 28 feet to 45 feet, Jack Sedwick, an associate zoning administrator with the city’s Planning Department, said Tuesday.
Although the company had promised to put landscaping and trees around the dishes, Sedwick said the dishes would impair the view of residents living in the Shadow Hills area and were inconsistent with the community’s long-range general plan.
Officials for Bonneville said Tuesday that they had not made a decision on whether to appeal the city’s ruling.
