A fire near Ardath Road in La Jolla about 3 p.m. Monday has been called arson by San Diego Fire Department investigators.
The blaze consumed about 10 acres of brush on the western side of Interstate 5, and the investigation is continuing.
The cause of another fire about a mile away on the same afternoon was traced to a high-voltage power line that fell, a department spokesman said Tuesday. That fire, which began shortly before the Ardath Road blaze, burned six to eight acres on the eastern side of Interstate 5 near the Gilman Road exit.
