HYANNIS, Mass. — Democratic presidential nominee Michael S. Dukakis ended a weekend vacation on Cape Cod on Sunday by attending a Boston Pops concert conducted by his wife’s father.
Dukakis, who spent Friday and Saturday nights on the Cape, returned to his Brookline home Sunday night.
The Massachusetts governor walked past reporters as he arrived at the outdoor concert in Hyannis. Dukakis was asked whether he had anything he wanted to say on the eve of the Republican National Convention but avoided the subject.
“This is going to be a great concert and we’re going to enjoy it,” Dukakis said. He sat at a table with his wife, Kitty, her sister and brother-in-law and several friends.
The “Pops by the Sea” concert, held on the town green, was conducted by Kitty Dukakis’ father, Harry Ellis Dickson.
