Southland Corp. has sold its snack foods division to Vesper Corp., a privately held company, for an undisclosed amount of cash. The division includes the El Ge Potato Chip Co. of York, Pa.; Keystone Pretzel Bakery of Lititz, Pa., and Pate Foods of South Beloit, Ill. The sale is part of Southland’s program to divest certain businesses to pay a portion of the debt incurred to finance the company’s December, 1987, leveraged buyout by its founding Thompson family.
