Deportations in Palestine
Goell has simplified the Palestinian-Israeli conflict into “wishful thinking” and if the article is not critically analyzed it can be extremely harmful.
If deportation of the uprising leaders would solve the dilemma, let it be done. However, for the past 20 years, and especially since Dec. 9, deportations, jailings, beatings, and killings have not brought any solutions.
Goell stated that by “deporting the leaders of the uprising they could eventually constitute the core of a more moderate leadership.” In my opinion the core will only become more bitter. Therefore making peace as difficult to return to the area as the deportees.
