Talking about talk shows, Joan Rivers is apparently back as a gabfest hostess. Tribune Entertainment Co. and Rivers’ production company have agreed to develop a one-hour, daytime talk show for her, to premiere in September, 1989. Said Rivers: “I am very excited about the project and the opportunity to work with the people at Tribune. They are gentlemen and honorable, and it’s a pleasure to work with them.” The Tribune people also produce and distribute “Geraldo.” Rivers was host of the Fox Broadcasting late-night show “The Late Show” in 1986 but was removed from the program after several months of low ratings.
