Lawyers for Drexel Burnham Lambert Inc. asked a federal appeals court in New York to force U.S. District Judge Milton Pollack to disqualify himself from the Securities and Exchange Commission’s insider trading lawsuit against the investment banking firm. Court papers claim that the judge has a conflict of interest because his wife, Moselle Pollack, stands to receive $30 million in a Drexel-financed leveraged buyout of a clothing store chain. The judge, considered by Drexel lawyers to be pro-government, so far hasn’t responded to requests that he disqualify himself.
