Pilots Draw Defense

It is important that D.C. Yvaska’s statement regarding “inexperienced pilots trying to ascend” be corrected and clarified for all those outside of the aviation community.
The pilot of the aircraft involved in the accident on takeoff from Fullerton Airport on Sept. 23 was a commercial pilot, licensed to fly both single- and multiengine aircraft. She held a flight instructor certificate and is licensed to teach instrument flying. She is also a ground instructor and was named Orange County Pilot of the Year by the Orange County chapter of the Ninety-Nines Inc. this past July.
